Have you always wanted to play a low pitched flute like the Bass Dm, but just don't have the reach? Well, here's the answer. No, this isn't one of those giant "contrabass" flutes that you can use for a baseball bat. However, it is a larger, lower pitch which is one whole step below a low Em. This Dm flute has a nice warm tone, is easy to reach both with your hands and arms as well as your pocketbook. I've constructed it from Eastern Aromatic Cedar, and accented it with Koa and Quilted Maple. As usual, it carries a genuine turquoise cabochon that contrasts nicely with the red color of the Eastern Cedar. I'll let you peruse the photos and the sound file and judge for yourself.
