I recently found some Colored Magnolia and thought it would make a gorgeous instrument. It does! This Gm has an open-throated voice and plays with gusto. She takes a little more air than some, but the volume and character make it, in my opinion, an outstanding musical instrument. I chose Thuya Burl for the end caps with Claro Walnut separators and mouthpiece. There were tiny insect borings in this wood which I filled with epoxy and crushed turquoise. I tuned it to the key of Gm. Not only is this wood lovely to gaze upon, the instrument is a Joy to play with a smooth, big voice.
