Photos of Where I Live & Work

Morado. The word means "purple" in Spanish. This dense, heavy Rosewood comes from Central and South America. It is similar to the Rosewood used on the fret boards of guitars. The color is more like a dark purplish brown and when the clear polyurethane is applied, the grain and colors really "pop". I love working with this wood. It has a marvelous tone, a healthy heft in the hands and plays a clearly as any Native American flute can. I've inlaid a strip along the top where the finger holes are to accent the beauty of this wood. This flute has a clear, lively sound and you'll get all the volume you could ever want or expect from this genre of instrument. Personally, I love playing this flute. You'll know, once you pick it up that you've got something of value in your hands, just from the weight of this instrument. I think that the density of the wood and the heft of the instrument all add clarity to the tone. She's a sensitive flute. If you want to play softly and quietly, she'll fulfill your wants. If you want to stand in front of a large audience or all alone in a canyon, you'll be able to project with this instrument. All in all, I fell that this flute will fit anyone's needs, whether they be a meditative desire or the wish to project one's musical talents to the world.

Enough talk. Take a listen to this flute. I've prepared a dry version to listen to and a wet version with reverb. You can decide if I'm right or wrong. If I were going to take a flute with me for any reason, I'd pick this flute up in a heartbeat. I hope that she will go to someone who appreciates her and has the heart to get all they can out of this unique and beautiful instrument. Thank you for taking the time to see and hear my offering.

Again, thank you for taking the time to view and hear this creation. If you have any questions or wish to contact me for any reason, my e-mail is crowflutes@aol.com.
